This position is responsible for providing vision, planning, project coordination and management for the development of a human resources information system (HRIS) while concurrently facilitating related, efficient operations to meet current and future business needs within the organization. Responsible for analyzing and directing all functional related activities within the scope of HRIS, including policies and data management. This position is accountable for ensuring continuity and successful delivery of functional services to users throughout the organization.
Manages the day-to-day activities related to HR service delivery, data and systems. This includes working collaboratively with other departments. Fosters and maintains positive relationships with all employees, including management and the HR customer base. Also serves as project manager for all HR related projects, ensuring accountability, communication and timely deliverables.
Promote proactive approaches using the HRIS to solve business needs/problems while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of the HRIS capabilities. Based on business need, negotiate priorities and support requirements with the IT department, functional staff at the remote locations and others as appropriate.
Manages appropriate HR staff. Builds and maintains a strong functional HRIS team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, performance management and succession planning. Involved in general HR staff planning and performance dialogue.
Plan, budget and forecast HRIS needs and applications. Maintain awareness of vendor plans and the potential impact of those plans on current and future HRIS functionality. Serves as an interface between internal/external customers and the functional team members to ensure effective definition and delivery of HRIS applications. Provides overall prioritization of work assignments and management of functional team resources and their activities.
Utilizes interpersonal skills when working with various customers and peers to accomplish project goals. Recommends process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy, which must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation.
Provides production support, including researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performing scheduled activities; recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements. Performs system maintenance, including assisting in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS system upgrades or patches. Collaborates with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix.

Responds to inquiries from managers and employees relating to HR information, policies and general requests.
As a leader within the department, supports CHRO and others in HR on various initiatives, projects and assignments.
