Gregory M. Soares, M.D.

Dr. Gregory M. Soares is the Director of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Rhode Island Hospital and Medical Director at the Rhode Island Vascular Institute. He specializes in all forms of venous disease with a special interest in minimally invasive therapy for varicose veins and vascular anomalies. He has written and spoken extensively on this topic as well as the value of clinical interventional radiology.
Dr. Soares is a magna cum laude graduate of Boston University Medical School and completed his Diagnostic Imaging residency in the Brown Medical School program at Rhode Island hospital where he also served as Chief resident. After completing his Interventional fellowship training at Rhode Island Hospital, he went on to serve as a Major in the USAF Medical Corps where he held the position of Chief of Interventional Radiology and Fellowship director at Wilford Hall Medical Center, the United States Air force's flagship tertiary hospital. He returned to join the staff of Rhode Island Medical Imaging in 2002. He is an active member of the teaching and research faculty at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
